May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Welcome to the long hot summer! I hope each of you has found a way to endure the summer heat that is everywhere in the world right now. Many families in India are suffering from very high temperatures and high humidity. Sanu’s family, (the family I live with in India) have spent many days with extreme heat and no electricity. Many people are dealing with illness from the unbearable heat.
But even amidst the heat, God has continued to bless Grace English School. We have a wonderful staff that holds fast to the priority of giving the students an excellent education. Their love for the children helps them grow in their understanding of who Jesus can be in their life. The students have been on vacation the last few weeks but return to school on August 7. We are starting our second quarter of the year and things have been going great! Our new teachers have adjusted well, and everyone is enjoying the new classrooms. We are praying the extreme heat takes a break and the electricity stays on so they can still use the overhead fans. Our cooks use an open fire to prepare lunches, please pray for their safety and health in the heat.
Raju’s (our headmaster) wife is expecting their second child any day now. Since her blood is O negative the Doctor is very concerned about delivery. She will be admitted to the hospital this coming Sunday the 30th. Please pray for a safe delivery and everyone to be healthy and covered in God’s peace.

Come the end of August, I am excited to spend time with my children Lori, husband Mike, John and wife Melissa and my daughter Kristen and my sister-in-law Elaine and brother-in-law Bob, in Rhode Island. We will be commemorating the 10 year passing of my husband John and celebrating my daughter Lori’s birthday.
I will then head off to Georgia to my friend Sandi’s house. Sandi is a long time friend from my youth and was gracious enough to invite me to join her on a cruise to the Bahamas. After our cruise Sandi asked me to lead a Bible Study with some of her local Georgia friends. My cousin Marilyn encouraged me to tie our ministry Learning to Hope with a study on hope. What a great idea! So, I have been spending the summer working on this study. I have never written a study before, so this has also been a challenging time of staying focused and trusting God to lead me in the direction He wants me to go. This new task has given me a great appreciation for anyone who writes Bible Studies. I have learned so much about seeking God’s direction and wisdom during this time.
The Study is unique in that it combines God’s Word and my story of how the Lord opened doors for Learning to Hope and Grace English School. I look forward to seeing what God has prepared. I’m confident God will encourage the women to trust in Him and to live with renewed hope.
As I mentioned in my last blog, I was stopped by immigration on my way home from India last December. I feel confident that God still wants me to return but they said I should not come so often, nor stay so long, as I have been flagged as a Christian. But despite that, Lord willing, I will be making plans to return to India in early 2024.
Due to these security concerns, I have decided to drop my Carol Alexander website and lower my online profile. My daughter Lori has set up a new Learning to Hope website for the ministry so you will still be able to see all the exciting things going on at Grace English School and read my blogs. I have posted the link to the new website below. If you would like to continue to receive my blogs, go to the bottom of the home page and add your email.
I continually praise God for your ongoing support of Learning to Hope. We could not advance this ministry without your prayers and financial support.
To sign up to continue to receive my blogs go to https://www.learningtohope.org/ scroll to the bottom of the page and sign up with your email. Again, even if you have received my newsletters previously, we need you to sign up again at the new Learning to Hope website. Thank you for your continued support during this interesting time in my life.
